Join the American Public Power Association to help secure the future of this vital market segment of the electric utility industry. APPA offers two major types of membership to meet the needs of the various organizations involved with and interested in public power. Each category listed below links to information on who is eligible for membership and provides instructions on how to join.

Regular Members - Benefits and Services

The American Public Power Association extends membership to all municipal, state and other local government-owned electric utilities. In addition, joint action agencies, state and regional associations who provide services to public power utilities are also eligible to join. Each of these organizations is permitted to join as a regular member and each gains access to all of the privileges, benefits and services of APPA membership.

Associate Members - Benefits and Services

APPA also offers an associate membership program for manufacturers, engineering firms, financial services, management/marketing consultants, insurance companies, power suppliers, and other organizations that provide services, supplies and support to public power utilities. Associate members enjoy the same discounts on publications and events as regular members. Corporate and private energy associate members receive reduced fees on marketing opportunities such as sponsorships, exhibiting, and advertising.
