Electric Power Statistics
APPA's Annual Directory & Statistical Report
The tables and graphs below, taken from APPA's Annual Directory & Statistical Report, are primarily based on U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration (EIA) data. These tables provide an overview of the electric utility industry and highlight public power's position in the industry. The data are for 2008. The EIA collects data from electric utilities, power marketers and non-utility generators, and makes much of this information available to the public on the EIA web page: www.eia.doe.gov.

Average Revenue per kWh, 2008 for Electric Utilities in the U.S.
This report shows each utility's average revenue per kilowatt-hour, representing full service sales only. Average values for states with retail choice do not include sales to customers that purchase power from alternate energy suppliers. Revenue per kilowatt-hour was calculated by APPA from 2008 data reported by each utility to EIA on Form EIA-861. For questions, contact Paul Zummo, APPA Research Analyst.
