Stimulus Opportunities

Welcome to the APPA Stimulus Information Page

Topics of Interest

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (economic stimulus bill) provided many different funding opportunities for public power. This portion of our website is intended to help you navigate this process. Funding that will be allocated directly from the federal government will go through www.grants.gov. You must pre-register with this website before applying for any federal funds. APPA recommends that you register now if you think you might want to apply for funding as this process can take several weeks.

Other funds will be allocated through state offices. APPA recommends you contact your state energy office and your Governor's office for information on applying for funding. You can find contact information for your state energy office through the National Association of State Energy Officials.
