Provides a forum for topics such as general accounting, finance, auditing, and budgeting functions of public power systems and assists in monitoring and developing responses to actions of national groups that set accounting standards for the electric utility industry

Covers and reports on the activities of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in regard to measure of the Dodd-Frank Act and the purchase and sale of commodity derivatives.

Costs to Prices
Serves as a forum where public power employees working in the costing, pricing and market analysis areas can exchange information and discuss technical questions

Customer Service
Communicate with other public power customer service professionals who work directly with customers. Discuss efforts to provide quality customer-oriented service to residential, commercial and industrial consumers.

Open to DEED (Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments) members only. Reports on the progress and final reports of DEED projects, DEED webinars and scholarship and grant opportunities

Energy Services
Covers a full spectrum of energy services, including energy efficiency and load management programs, marketing, integrated resource planning, and product and service issues

Environmental Issues
Provides a forum for exchanging information, ideas, and viewpoints on environmental related matters, particularly in the area of regulatory developments and compliance requirements

Covers and reports on the activities of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission including proposed rules, comments, opinions and orders and court cases

Generation and Fuels
Serves as a clearinghouse utility generation facilities and fuels, including nuclear power

Human Resources
Communicate with personnel, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and training specialists who deal with human resource policies and practices of a local public power system

Information Technology
Connect with IT public power professionals on the information technology needs in an electric utility, including enterprise-wide strategic planning, the type of equipment used, and the systems and procedures involved in data and information processing for utility operations.

Public Power Forward
Shares developments and acts as a forum to help public power utilities prepare for a new and changing era in how you provide electricity service to your customers. This discussion group addresses issues such as grid modernization, providing enhanced services to customers, distributed energy resources, new business partnerships with vendors and other third parties, retail rate design reform, and strategic planning to accomplish these changes.

Risk Management
Acts as a forum for the exchange of information on risk management and insurance procurement practices. Topics covered include risk retention, risk transfer, loss control, claims management, and insurance options.

Deals with utility safety policies and practices including questions on APPA's Safety Manual, OSHA, NESC and NEC topics and APPA's Safety Contest

Follows and reports on NSA, DHS, FBI and other organizations activities on electric utility and grid physical security and cybersecurity.

Supply Management
Deals with electric utility purchasing and stores policies and practices.
