Registration is open for the 2013 APPA National Conference & Public Power Expo, which will be held June 15-19 in Nashville, Tenn. The National Conference is public power’s largest annual gathering, bringing together more than 1,500 public power leaders, including utility boards, mayors, city council members, utility executives, senior managers, future utility leaders and industry partners.

The conference offers nationally recognized keynote speakers -- who will address the political, social, and economic trends shaping the electricity industry and the nation -- as well as breakout sessions that address the many complex issues facing public power utilities. Sessions will address utility governance; technology, infrastructure and transmission issues; fuels and resources; upcoming legislation and regulations; customer service and energy efficiency; and work force issues.

Other conference highlights will include:

•    The Public Power Day of Giving (Friday, June 14), an opportunity for conference attendees to meet while volunteering at a local service organization;
•    Pre-conference seminars (June 15-16), offering longer class times and smaller class sizes, interactive formats and experienced instructors so attendees can learn about complex management and strategic issues in greater depth;
•    Public Power Expo (June 17-18), an opportunity to meet with dozens of electric industry suppliers, vendors and consultants showcasing their products and services.

All conference events will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.

Visit to register for the National Conference, pre-conference seminars, or Day of Giving, and to make your hotel reservations, or for more information about the conference.
